WELCOME TO OUR SCHOOL
Da Vinci International School is an international trilingual school for children aged 18 months to 5th grade. We offer full-immersion academic programs in French and Spanish (incorporating English gradually as they grow) as well as enriching after-school offerings and camps.
Our founder, Soraya Rouchdi, a mother and educator, founded our unique trilingual school with a strong emphasis on S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) as well as project-based learning.
Our school takes its name from the great Leonardo Da Vinci, mathematician, engineer, anatomist, painter, sculptor, inventor, architect, botanist, musician and writer. Da Vinci International School strives to embrace the Da Vinci within each child focusing on developing 21st century skills in maker-centered classrooms in French, Spanish, and English.
Accredited by the French Ministry of Education, DVIS has developed an innovative pedagogy which draws from the French system, the Reggio Emilia approach, as well as project-based learning. The rigor and standards of the French system emphasize continuous and cyclical learning with increasing complexity. We balance this elliptical approach with experiential and maker-centered practices.
Our home at the Blue Heron Nature Preserve provides an idyllic environment in which children develop a strong relationship to nature. Da Vinci learners receive devoted attention from their experienced teachers. We believe in creating inclusive, cooperative learning environments. As every child learns differently, we give our teachers freedom to develop curriculum that meets the differentiated needs and interests of our learners. We create a socially, culturally and emotionally nurturing learning environment that brings out the unique abilities in each child
Our pedagogical approach places Da Vinci teachers at the very heart of the school. Our teachers are continuously refining their approach in the classroom based on the needs and interests of the learners as well as incorporating innovative methods of learning.
Education today very much means embracing change. The 21st century learner must be prepared emotionally, intellectually, ethically, physically and socially to be productive global citizens and find joy in their future careers. Our teachers act as facilitators and guides in your child’s journey of developing self-management and learning routines, social skills, literacy, numeracy and content-based instruction in elementary school.
