Travel restrictions: Quarantine is lifted for all travelers. A PCR test is required on day 5 after the arrival date, till the numbers go down to 5 per 100,000.

Spring Break: Masks will be required during the week after spring break (April 11-15). A negative Covid-19 test will be required from every student to be admitted back to school on Monday, April 18th.

* DVIS staff will continue masking through March 18th to allow us to monitor the effects of the new policy. At that time we will determine whether masks will be strongly recommended for staff.

*These dates have been chosen to allow us to monitor the effects of unmasking in other schools.

We will Maintain the enhanced cleaning and all the other measures in place.

Policy Requirements:

  1. Every child should have a supply of 5 masks in school in case of sickness and the requirement of wearing a mask while waiting to be picked up.

  2. When sick and a family is called, every child needs to be picked up immediately. Please be mindful of staff members.

  3. DO NOT come into school and DO get tested if you have any Covid-19 symptoms. That is our most important mitigation tool.

  4. The temperature will not be taken at carpool anymore.

  5. Hand washing will be kept.

  6. Tests requirements: DVIS will conduct random PCR tests at school, if your child is not authorized, you will be responsible to provide the test before your child can come back to school.

  7. Any student with symptoms will be required to provide a Covid-19 PCR test and will not be admitted back to school without a negative test.

  8. If there is exposure to Covid-19 in a classroom, the current policy remains the same. All grades located on the same building floor will return to universal masking for 10 days.

  1. If the Covid-19 Community Level for Fulton County changes, we will return to wearing masks inside, as per guidance.

  2. Families are allowed to use the playground from 3 to 4 pm. After 4 pm after school students should be able to use the playground and they are under the supervision of staff members. No other student/child or adult should remain in the playground after 4 pm.

  3. Before 3 pm we do have PE classes and when classes are in session in the playground, no other adult or child is authorized in the playground. Thank you for your understanding!

Important Travel Update for Back to School:

If your child is traveling by flight and arriving in Atlanta, DVIS requires 7 days of quarantine followed by a negative PCR test, or 10 days of quarantine without a test to be back to school for the second semester. We ONLY accept PCR tests, not rapid tests. If your child needs to be quarantined due to any symptoms (please see our Illness Policy for specifics) or arrives in Atlanta after flying please see the below CDC guidelines that DVIS follows.

After Arrival in the United States

You might have been exposed to COVID-19 on your travels, whether you traveled by air, land, or sea. You might feel well and not have any symptoms, but you can still be infected and spread the virus to others. For this reason, CDC recommends the following:

ALL Travelers

If You Are NOT Fully Vaccinated

In addition to the testing recommendations above

  • Please make sure to inform the school administration admin@dvischool.com as soon as possible about your travel plans for us to better prepare the back to school and your unvaccinated child’s virtual learning during his/her quarantine. If your child is fully vaccinated and travels by flight, he/she does not need to quarantine however we require a negative test to be back to school.
